Thankfully I have two little boys who adore 'working' and having a project. Especially if that project uses tools, lots and lots of sharp tools like hand saws, hatchets and loppers. Yes, our afternoon project was one I have been dreading, clearing a meandering gooseberry bramble. It's inch long spines just were not user friendly and the 3 berries I was getting off it every year didn't make up for the impaled and wailing children. It had to go. And go it did. I'm sure it will be back but we set it back a couple months and I think with proper trodding it will succumb to our ways.
We also let the baby turkey lurks out to roam:
they follow Kami like mama, which I adore and she pretends to dislike. But I see her watching their every move and if they get to far from her she sighs and moves closer, rolls her eyes and watches her babies peck for bugs.
A DC3 flew over us, everyone got riled up. The turkeys froze in fear. The humans leaped around and waved. The chickens squawked for more food, as usual. Kami didn't flinch.
We stopped for a cold water break.
And look who lost a tooth today! He's showing off the tooth that now kind of floats around where his 2 front teeth were.
The winner of the Clear Hills Honey 100% Beeswax Crayons is one of my favorite bloggers, Monica from Lick the Bowl Good! Yeah Monica, you are going to love these crayons!! I know I have your address around here somewhere but I might need it again.
I feel like the response to my Buy American Made series warrants more interviews and I have several more lined up. I will be compiling the business' in to a page here on my blog or else adding a button for each business. I don't know yet, but something, soon.
Peace and Love-

OMG - Can't believe that old barn is still standing. Wasn't it a death trap when *we* were kids? The pictures are great and make me feel all nostalgic ... xoxo!
Yes!! Still not collapsed. I think mom told us it would kill us just to keep us out, I was such a good kid it worked.
I feel the same way everyday Jessie, hard to raise kids here amongst the memories that fill this place.
Oh yay! Thank you so much, you're one of my favorites too.
And I know a 3 year old who would love these crayons. I'll email you my address.
woot!
Love the pictures and the "projects!" Congrats to the winner!
