Foraged Sushi

I'm in a small foraging group, we try to get out once a week to forage. Today we went to the ocean and collected some beach greens. We found lovage and goose tongue, both salty and tangy, we thought they might be good in sushi.

They were the perfect addition to sushi. We also added some sliced King Salmon, cukes and fresh basil. Mmmm the rolls were fantastic. We spent some time preparing the feast while the men and ALL the boys (6!) and one little girl played outside. Then we feasted. I am loving this foraged food!

Thanks Jamey who is the driving force behind us and Rachel who MAKES us go and our great and lovely earth who provides us with such things as beach greens, dandelions, chickweed and nettles to discover and enjoy.

Here's the beautiful Rachel and the lone baby girl. Oh and that's Peter or random man #2 propped up in the corner. Good times.

Oooo those look good! I love the ideas of these. I could really go for these. Salmon fishing again soon to restock? :)

WOW! That sushi looks so heavenly - I wish I lived near the ocean and could forage the yummies you all found! I think I may have to put sushi on the menu this week.

Oh boy, you can't imagine how excited I am to see this recipe! Foraging is one of my favorite activities, but never once did it occur to me to put my treasures in sushi. If I weren't sitting, I'd be jumping up and down. Thanks for bringing the idea to T4T, I'm totally inspired!
