Finally, last year we tried to make magnets from them but the big chunky magnets I used didn't work very well. We tried again this year and had a lot more success.
First we dug out the pieces we were looking for-no easy feat! Each piece had a little plastic knob on it I simply knocked them off and they left a little hole in each dino. I plan to fill those with some air dry clay in matching colors, I have some around here some where.
dinos! we're not dead YET!
and we dug out a the flexible magnet that is easily cut with scissors
these flat fridge magnets are usually free at the thrift store
trace and then cut to fit the back of the piece, cutting inside the line made it easy for kids to fit them on without going over the edges
hot glue the magnet to the back of the pieces and you have easy home presents for friends
almost ready to go to a new home!
The last step is to fill the holes with some air dry clay and give them to some friends.
cute and easy presents for kids to give and get

What a great idea!! Wood putty would probably fill the hole nicely too. I spotted some magnetic PAINT in a catalog the other day, I'm still trying to think of some way to use it.
Aww these are cute Laura!
@ Coleen - I worked at a kid's craft store that had magnetic paint on the walls. We did panels in sections w/ kids magnet sets. I'd imagine it'd be cute on a kid's bedroom wall section if you weren't into your fridge being used for toy magnets.
Very creative and cute! Great idea, thanks!
