New week, new plan, same food rhythm
Tuesday is pasta night:
homemade pasta with broccoli, artichokes hearts and parmesan
green peas
home canned apple sauce
Wednesday is bean night:
crockpot pinto beans with cheese and salsa
green salad with salsa
sauteed mushrooms and zucchini (something like this but on the stove)
Thursday is soup and bread:
rice and vegetable soup w/homemade/homegrown stock
fresh bread and butter
Friday is cheese:
homemade macaroni and cheese-going to try half with fresh tomatoes...if I can bring myself to buy them this time of year--anybody made this? did you like it?
fresh salad with a fresh vinaigrette
Saturday is leftovers or crockpot:
green beans
My plan is out there, anyone can see it, I'll have to follow it, right? Gah I hope so! I have my list made, sale items marked, and reuseable bags ready to go. Hope I remember to grab them on the way out the door.
Wish me luck.
Peace and Love--

I have such a hard time sticking to a meal plan, too. I find that I'm not in the mood for it, or we have leftovers so stuff keeps getting pushed back a day or two.
I like to just stock up on the meats and veggies I have a taste for and create stuff on the fly. This week I have some poblanos, tofu, and either cabbage or cauliflower - I forget which I bought. Who knows what it will all become!?
I wish my hubby would enjoy a menu like that, it sounds WONDERFUL to me, but I think he would run away from home if meat wasn't the main course EVERY night.
A friend of mine made Mexican Mac and Cheese for a potluck recently. Its her mother-in-law's recipe and has tomato in it. I was surprised by how much we all liked it. I was pretty uncertain about unusual mac and cheese for a comfort food night but it was good. I don't know if she added something besides tomato or not. Hunts canned tomatoes are my stand by in the off tomato season. They're very flavorful and you can buy them as whole peeled tomatoes in the can with no salt added.
