The Penny Worthy Project is my response to tightening our belts. Everything seems to cost more theses days, how are you getting by? Do you sell on Etsy? Ebay? Thrift shop regularly? How are you getting by on less when everything costs more? Are you creating art, sewing or painting to let your soul breathe? I'd love to know! Leave a comment or a link to your blog post to join in and tell the world how you are making it.
Summer is in full swing and so is the garden or gardens in our case, we happen to have things growing everywhere. I like it like that, if you put something down around here I'll plant flowers in it! Behold the rotten pot...
We'll have broccoli soon and the organic slug control I put down seems to be holding up just fine. I haven't seen a slug yet and I just applied more yesterday.
The heads are about 1-2 inches across and I'm excited.
Pumpkins are coming along just fine too, we have about 10 babies right now but we lose some every year. All in all we are looking forward to a prosperous garden year. Hurray for growing our own food.
I have a HUGE eBay auction going right now, over a hundred piece lot of vintage Transformers. Do you know anybody who loves transformers? Would you send them to check out my auctions? Every little bit I make off my auctions right now helps me get to San Diego to BlogHer 11, where I'll be speaking on the subject of Kids and Food. I'm also taking a very well deserved road trip from San Jose to San Diego with 3 really good friends. I'm very excited! So help me out and share my auction info?
I have a weakness for paintings, I'm always dragging them home. 5 bucks! I'm sorry a blank canvass costs more than that I can't help it. As my sister used to say "itsnotmyfault!" (it usually was!)
Look at the trouble I got talked into.
Yes, a used race car track. I really can't say much more about that can I? It's been fun and frustrating putting it together with little boys. We need a new car for it but other than that it's in pretty good shape. This is the perfect fun for rainy days inside and it is July in Alaska, need I say more?
My son found this vintage Knott's Berry Farm souvenir guide, it's pretty sweet. No date or information but it appears mid-sixties .
I think I'll wear my new Vera scarf while flipping through it...
what do you think? Actually I'm thinking this will make a great addition to my traveling outfit for the road trip, now I just need some cat eye sun glasses and I'll be good.
How are you getting by?Auctions? Art? Giveaways? Poetry? Menu Plans? Arts? Knitting? Crocheting? BRING IT ON!
Peace and Love--

You've been thrifting up a storm! I love the garden, thrifting, and auction updates! I tried to take a thrifting break but realized as a reseller, you can't, your booth always needs fresh merch. So I've been thrifting up a storm.
Work, work, work! Your post reminded me that my herbs need transplanting...gotta get to that soon!
