HOLY COW, my husband and I have spent the better part of today GUTTING kid's rooms and moving them back to the basic necessities of childhood. We didn't do this as punishment we are truly moving in the Simplicity Parenting direction and it was the next logical step. If you're wondering about Simplicity Parenting look for the book or check out the website, it will help you to simplify life and raise calmer happier kids. I'll be writing a post for them later this week on our simplification of our boy's rooms. The photos alone are worth a look see.
With all the simplifying going on I need to remember to temper my thrift store urges with simplification. Not easy my friends, not easy. I've picked up so many things this last week, only to put them back after talking myself out of them.
I did truly need this jelly funnel. My friend's little boy picked mine up and ran off with it this summer. I haven't seen it since, and to tell the truth I don't think they have either. I discovered what little gem the jelly funnel is after only a few times of making jelly without one. When I saw this one for a quarter I snatched it up double time.
I'm a cook book lover, I buy them read them like a novel and then hopefully I donate them back again or pass them off to the appropriate person to look through. I have enough cook books but I though each of these was a least worth a look. I probably won't keep them but I will enjoy perusing them.
I am one month away from my 3 year blogging anniversary. I am giving away an amazingly cool prize, you will want to be here to enter to win. And the best part? You could give to someone for Christmas and totally make their year. SO, don't forget to come back, subscribe or follow or get email delivery, but seriously make sure you're back here in 3 weeks to learn all about it and drop your name in the hat for the chance to win a ___________.
Did you find anything good this week? Well why not share--leave your link, leave a comment, sit back relax and check out how folks are living the penny worthy lifestyle all over the world.
Peace and Love--

Congrats on "tempering your thrift store urges"! I also like looking through cookbooks and the ones you found look like fun.
Thanks so much for hosting! Yeah I talk myself out of so much also. Don't forget to join our thirfty link up too.
As we will be moving home in the near future, my husband keeps talking me out of buying things too :( Liking your find. Ihave my eye on one too, but will have to wait until the pennies come rolling in again.
Like you I too am reaching my 3 year blogging anniversary - so congratulate you.
I don't have a picture but I picked up two really cool and really old vintage soup ladels at the SA last week. I have them hanging off a peg shelf in my kitchen!
I don't have a picture, but my mom and I just bought old lanterns for $3.50 a piece for wedding centerpieces at the tables. Super excited! I'll surround them with evergreen clippings and pinecones.
Totally jealous of the Newman's Own cookbook and that Christmas cookie one is something I would have POUNCED on had I seen it at a store!
I've been simplifying and forcing myself to put down many things while hunting as well. I need my whole life to be pedantically organized before I drag in more stuff.
Be sure to show us progress with the boy's room when it's done? That book and simply kid's room theory sounds interesting!
