The Penny Worthy Project

NOW THROUGH NEXT MONDAY THE 12 OF DECEMBER MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE KITCHENAID STAND MIXER GIVEAWAY!

Good thrifting week up north here, how about you? No particular good finds, just good trips, fun digging and a happy week.

Bought us a set of cloth napkins. I love the print. These make a nice change from the wash clothes we've been using since we went paperless over here.

Vintage Christmas balls NEEDED to come home with me, yes?

And this adorable vintage stocking.

I've been doing lots of knitting this week too. Finished this voygeur hat for my husband, I love it, don't you?

Of course in case you missed it I made a few gnome hats for my boys too. And I started this gnome hat a couple days ago, I love the way it stripes up.

So who wants to win a KitchenAid Mixer? Come back tomorrow for details!

Peace and Love--

The ornaments are very nice, but I love your hats. Sure wish I could knit, maybe someday soon❤ I will give it a try.

I think a set of cloth dinner napkins in fun colors would make a great Christmas gift.

Have you ever heard or read the Swedish Fairy Tale;
"The Cap that Mother Made" See if you can find it and read it to your family, it's about a mother who knit her son a hat. Your wonderful hats made me think of this story.❤

Those gnome hats are great! I love the colors in the one you are currently working on. My mother used to knit up a storm. I believe she even knitted a suit for herself in the 60's. I'm not quite coordinated enough to get the hang of it, although I can crochet if I put my mind to it.

Love the shiny brites! I agree; you couldn't leave them behind. They needed to come home with you. :)

I will definitely be back tomorrow, just yesterday I was using my Kitchen Aide Handmixer and it was rattling like crazy. I can't wait to see what you have tomorrow.

I love your ornaments! The napkins are great too. One of my resolutions for 2012 is going to be using cloth napkins exclusively.

I took a picture of some of the carrots I picked toward the end of the outdoor season. I call them "Dancing Carrots". The photo was so I'd remember them, since eating them was the original point of growing them! My recipe:

Poke multiple holes in the whole carrots which a fork.
Lay them in a glass or ceramic baking dish.
Liberally pour birched honey over them, especially the holes.
Sprinkle the carrots with cinnamon, ground cloves and fresh grated ginger (not to much as it is very strong in this dish).
Bake covered at 250 degrees F long enough for the carrots to start getting soft. Remove the cover to get a caramelizing effect and bake until the birched honey starts to get firm.
Serve warm. May I post a pic of the before carrots?
