Just Another {KitchenAid Stand Mixer Giveaway} Meatless Monday

CLOSED!!

3 years ago I decided to start writing this blog. I wanted to document my journey from processed standard food back to a more healthy holistic lifestyle. Not only have our eating habits changed but out whole lives have too. In that time I've had ankle surgery to repair a bad break, worked day and night start a Waldorf school, moved to a more subsistence lifestyle, discovered I don't need a lot of stuff to be happy, started the youngest two boys in the Waldorf school and graduated the oldest boy from high school. I've jumped back in to reselling as a hobby and to make some money, I've also picked up my knitting again, I've realized that my thrifting tendencies are appreciated by a lot more people than just me myself and I. Writing has always been a fascination of mine and now I write almost daily about our life and times here in Alaska and it suits me perfectly.

I'd like to say thank you to all the folks who read, comment, share and otherwise enjoy my blog, Thank You. But of course I want to give you something too and I wanted it to be something that I use almost everyday in my kitchen. I love my KitchenAid Stand Mixer and I want to share the joy it brings to me, with you. It makes baking a joy, whipping cream is a dream, kneading bread is simple, frosting comes together like magic. So that's what I'm doing, I'm giving away a KitchenAid 5 QT Tilt Head Stand Mixer, your choice of color.....

The link above actually has more colors than listed here, these are only a few of the colors available.

So what does a person have to do around here to be entered in the contest you ask?

Well there are several ways to get an entry, but no matter what you MUST be a follower of this blog --->>>>>>> right over there

  • you can leave a comment telling me if you would keep or gift the KitchenAid
  • leave a comment telling me what color you would pick if you won
  • you can become a follower on facebook---->>>>> right over there, leave another comment
  • blog roll "Hey What's for Dinner Mom?" and leave a comment
  • tweet or post on facebook "  @whats4dinnermom Check out Hey What's for Dinner Mom she's giving away a KitchenAid Stand Mixer " leave a comment
  • write up a blog post about the giveaway, leave a comment

ok and the technical details--giveaway runs through the end of next Monday the 12 and is open to US residents only!
So there you go. Happy Blogiversary to me!

Peace and Love--

FTC disclosure: none, this was bought and paid for by me.

Happy blogiversary Laura! Well you know I'd follow you anywhere! I can't believe the joy your friendship has brought to me over the (few) years we've known each other, not to mention the amazing people I have met from within your sphere of influence. Congratulations for all the accomplishments you have achieved over the past few years. Just wow. You're amazing.

HeatherinSF said...

Just tweeted for you! Also I'd love the copper color one. I have my Mom's first kitchenaid but it has a glass bowl and limited muscle but for being 48 years old it's doing okay. I would bake a lot more bread with a new one that has a dough hook. Fingers crossed!

Kristin said...

Happy Blogiversary!! It is so interesting to read about how we all started blogging. I started as a way to get my friends and family from calling me every day asking for recipes. I LOVE my mixer and if I won the giveaway I would give it to my mommy. She actually bought me my mixer a few years ago and I know that she really wants one.

Kristin said...

My mom's favorite color is red but her kitchen appliances are all black so I am not sure if I would choose black or red. I would have to do some digging to determine the color. Who knew they came in so many shades?!

Shaheen said...

Happy blogiversary to you. I'd love to enter, but i would be being greedy as I have one that i have hardly used as i don't have much room in my kitchen to bring it out.

I wish your followers the best of luck and to you, you have a lovely blog that I am glad I have been able to be part of x through meatles mondays and penny worthy project. Thankyou.

Coleen said...

Happy Blogiversary to you, well done!! My goodness, what a generous giveaway!! I'd love to have a new stand mixer, mine is starting to get "tired", although my Kitchen Aid mixer has served me DAILY for almost 30 years. I enjoy your writing and I hope you continue. Peeking in on your little family is a real treat.

Happy Blogiversary to you! I've loved reading your posts.

I too have become thriftier over the years and thrive on the challenge. Blogging inspires encourages us to be thriftier. This year I want to cut out almost all processed food and live a healthier, thriftier lifestyle like you do- so a kitchenaid would come in handy ;)

I would keep it if I won and I'd choose the pear color.

What a wonderful, generous giveaway!

I would most likely keep the mixer, because (as you know) I've been doing a LOT of vegan baking, and having a 2nd Kitchen Aid would be fabulous.

I'm still hoping to start my vegan baking business in some form or other, so having a good mixer at ALL times is crucial!

I would choose red, because it looks SO good in my kitchen!

Very cool contest. You don't know me but I've visited your blog several times - back when we were young and single in a galaxy far, far away I used to hang out with your husband at his coffee job at Fred Meyer. Sadly, I do not own a mixer. I've always wanted one. I'm a baker at heart and if I were to be the lucky recipient of this wonder prize I would love to make up a little delite to share with you and your family.

I took a pic of carrots I grew and picked at the end of the outside season. I call them "Dancing Carrots". Here is the recipe:
Using a fork, poke many holes in the hole carrots.
Lay them in a glass or ceramic baking dish.
Liberally pour birched honey over the top, especially over the holes.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, ground cloves and freshly grated ginger (not too much as fresh is very strong).
Bake covered at 250 degrees F until the carrots begin to get soft.
Take the cover off and continue baking until the birched honey begins to caramelize.
Serve warm
